Eugene Leingang , Age 78

May 29, 1947 -- October 13, 2025

Eugene Henry Leingang, Jr, age 78 years, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025.

A native of New Orleans, LA, Gene was the son of Claire  (Barbir) Leingang and Eugene Leingang, Sr.  He attended Cor Jesus and John McDonough Senior High School.

Gene was a lover of music.  He enjoyed playing guitar and singing to his grandkids.  In his younger days he would write jingles, gig with his band, “The Glimmers” and make a cameo from time to time at Lake Ponchartrain’s Back to the Beach, performing his “hit” song, “Save our Lake”.

In 2005, Gene evaculated from New Orleans to Lexington, KY during hurricane Katrina.  He fell in love with the cooler climate and decided to make Kentucky his home.  He later met his fiancee, Patty Confer and settled in Lebanon, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Gene Williams.  Gene is survived by his daughters, Jennifer and Lindsey (Woody), Tracie Williams, brother Andy, sister Rikki, nieces and grandchildren, and his loving fiance, Patty.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Norton Health Hospital for their devoted care as well as the staff at Southern Cremation Society of KY.

Services will be not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a mass intention at the St. Angela Merici Roman Catholic Church in Metairie, LA.
