Linda Cooper , Age 67

October 24, 1957 -- October 15, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Linda Darlene Cooper who left us on October 15th 2025 at the age of 67. We take comfort in knowing that her struggle is over and that she has found perfect peace and healing in heaven.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Jeannie Cooper. She is survived by her devoted “Ainge” and their spoiled fur children—Bertie, Charlie, and Mia. She also leaves behind her brother, Mark Cooper; niece, Chrissy White; nephew, Chad Cooper; and a host of cherished aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews, and many more family members that she loved deeply.

A “real character” with a quick wit and a knack for telling a joke or an unlikely story, Linda was blessed with many enduring friendships—especially with Debbie Bullock, Pam Poston and Dixie Hardin.

She dedicated most of her life to New Hope Services in Jeffersonville, where she worked, played, and mentored countless clients. Her impact was profound, and the friendships she formed there lasted a lifetime. In 2000, she was honored with the Julia Spaulding Outstanding Service Award—a moment made unforgettable by her spirited, mic-grabbing acceptance speech.

Fondly known as “Cooper,” “Coop,” or “Coopee,” Linda leaves behind a legacy of laughter and treasured memories. Her passing is deeply felt by all who knew her. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her freedom from suffering.

In keeping with her wish for a “joyful celebration,” Linda will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. We invite all who attend to bring a written memory to share—one that captures the joy and humor she brought into our lives.

Linda’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, kindness, and unconditional love will never be forgotten. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in every story shared, every smile sparked by a memory, and every act of love inspired by her example. We will miss her dearly, but we are forever grateful for the time we had and the love she gave so freely.

Until we meet again, sweet Coopee, may you watch over us and help our hearts find peace.

I loved her so much. She always made me laugh when I was around her love talking to her. She’s up there with my husband having a drink and looking down upon us with her prayers. Love you all.
